Single user Profile Installation

To install the trial version of Profile, go to ‘The Profile System’ page by clicking on the 
appropriate link. Click on the ‘Download Profile now’ link. This will copy the 
ProfileInstall.exe file onto your hard disk. This should be copied to a temporary directory.

Next, go into Windows explorer and double click on the ProfileInstall.exe file. You will be 
asked a number of questions by the installation routine.  As part of the installation, Interbase 
6 will be installed.  The Borland Database Engine (BDE) will also be installed as  part of the 
installation.  If at a later stage, the software needs to be uninstalled, go to your control panel 
and select the uninstall programs option and select Profile. Interbase 6 and the BDE will also 
be uninstalled. If any other applications are using these, you will be warned at this stage. If 
this is the case, these files must not be deleted from your machine.

On running your profile system, you will be prompted for a user name and password. A 
single user with the name ‘Main user’ will be set. The password for this user is not needed. 
This will allow the setting of any additional users.
